Battle Screen: The Pool
The Pool is a small hack for DM to make players' life bit harder. Even for a well-prepared battle, it may happen that the battle didn't make any trouble for players. Or vice versa, DM doesn't know from the beginning whether to put all monster forces on the board. In such cases DM can use the Pool to add monsters aside the battle and place them in at the right time (or never). Aside monsters can be added while preparing to a battle or directly during battle process.
- One or more combatants can enter battle any time from pool. On entering, DM will choose new combatants' turn positions.
- Monsters in the Pool can be assigned to Waves for faster battle entering.
- Players can be also placed in the Pool.
Monster Repository
- Most common monster data can be entered as monster cards
- Each monster card is a template for next battles
- Monsters have all details for entering as available in original Monster Manual from Wizards.
- Monster powers can be specified together with recharge conditions that will be observed by the tool during battles.
- Monster data can be imported from Monster Builder exported files (.monster files generated by Adventure Tools)
Preparing for a battle
- Each battle has a name
- Battle combatants assembled from player data (DMBS and Character Builder files) and monster cards (DMBS files)
- Each monster can be adjusted before battle (equipment, additional info etc.)
- When not all monsters should appear initially in battle, they can be placed to the Pool. When DM decides to throw fresh monsters to battle, he or she can add pooled monsters to it.
- Pooled monsters can be assigned to Waves for faster appearing in the battle.
